It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Myrtle Benson.
To know Myrtle was to love her. She lived her life with warmth, kindness, generosity, and love. Family and friends were at the centre of everything she did, and nothing mattered more to her than her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Fiercely independent and never expecting anything in return, Myrtle took care of the people she loved. She was thoughtful and wise, knowing when to offer guidance, when to share a homemade meal, and when to open her door to someone who needed a place to stay. Deeply grateful for her life and for the people in it, she had a way of making others feel comfortable and at home.
As we say goodbye, we take comfort in a life beautifully lived, with not a day wasted. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses, and care staff who so lovingly cared for Myrtle.
A small family gathering will take place in Winnipegosis at a later date.
